Veda Sereem appeared in the magazine "The Chronicles...A Belly Dancer's Oasis." Vol 6, Issue 4, October/November/December 2008, pages 5 through 9.
The Title: "A Closer Look: Veda"
A pioneer in American Belly Dance, talks about her book, dvds, web page, the history of her years of dancing in restaurants and teaching, her instructor, Veydah Edwards. Talks about auditions, her dancing at Disney, belly grams, teaching and dancing in Orlando, conventions, moving back to Maryland, and that 38 years after I first walked into the Port Said Night Club in D.C. and became carried away with the music and dance, I still teach 4 times a week and perform.
"The way I want to be remembered when I can no longer teach is that I made a difference in the lives of my students, I taught them to belly dance - but more than that, I taught students to care for each other and belong to the most beautiful and powerful community in the world: The Art of Belly Dancing."
